So, I spent the better part of last year writing a 320-page book on tile–a comprehensive look at the grooviest product available, from tooled leather and handmade ceramics to sci-fi acrylics and high-tech porcelain. Thirty-thousand words and 2,000-plus tiles later (all photographed by the fabulous Ben Ritter), I still feel like I only scratched the surface. Thus, this blog is a companion to the book, a place to highlight individual artisans and manufacturers in greater detail and showcase their latest offerings—as well as take a closer look at new names I’ve discovered along the way.
Still recovering from writing 30,000 words on tile, I plan to keep this blog rather visual, with links to good reference guides for those in search of meatier or more technical info.
